Split the Atom dropped back in April, mix of drum and bass with some slower tracks and a little bit of a dubstep vibe. Very good all around. There’s another Foreign Beggars collab on it, although I think “Contact” is a much better song.
22tape shot us an email earlier tellin’ us about his new EP “Mosaicchangetone” and we’re glad he did. In the game since 92′ 22tape has been producing vinyl based hip hop out of a variety of places. Apparently producing all of these tracks while in Denver, LA, and Dublin, he shows a good amount of variety while still keeping the tracks simple and bangin’. Tons of low end bass throughout and a dope glitch vibe put him among the likes of dimlite and prefuse, but at the same time his tracks give off a more relaxed hip hop vibe than the more recent glitch hop endeavors by heavy hitters like FlyLo and Alex B. This is the third track off the EP and gives a good impression of the quality of tracks throughout.

I had never heard of these cats before, but in my opinion they blow Eoto’s “live dubstep” out of the water.

With an insane line up from the likes of Pretty Lights, to Borgore, Excision, Rusko, Datsik, and older electronic giants like AK1200, Starscape was THE dubstep showcase for the United States this year. From the clips and commentary I’ve seen about it, it seems like Borgore threw down some hard tracks, but his mixing was lackluster. While Datsik threw down insanely hard while also showing that he can mix with the best of them. The above video is nuts, and his combination of several Swagga remixes at the end is bangin’. Firepower was supposedly the most played song throughout Starscape, which slightly surprises me considering how hard of a song it is. Whatever though, just proves that dubstep is steadily on the rise.
Hopefully Borgore will drop his whole EP soon, but heres a leak of Money, and the downlink remix of Swagga, one of which Datsik dropped in the video above.

here is some tracks i had for a lil’ bit now and if you have been keeping up with things bassy, then you have these too! the first couple are a little more glitchy and more light oriented. I’m loving iTAL TEK right now. Gotta get him out to Boulder, for sure. NastyNasty is also putting things down on his track “choker”. Def DL both and buy more of their tracks. After thems, we got some crunchier tings that are a little darker too. first-”chemical” by vermin and its nasty. Lastly, is a “CAll me” remix by the messiah. I just watched zoolander so i’m posting that track up.
Both off the Fashionably Late Mixtape, Yup is a straight banger. Mixtape drops June 22nd. get on it.
Truly filthy mix by my boy Brother Nature out of St. Pete florida. He spins weekly at The Garden downtown for any other floridians. It is much too hot here. I do not like it.
