Split the Atom dropped back in April, mix of drum and bass with some slower tracks and a little bit of a dubstep vibe. Very good all around. There’s another Foreign Beggars collab on it, although I think “Contact” is a much better song.
22tape shot us an email earlier tellin’ us about his new EP “Mosaicchangetone” and we’re glad he did. In the game since 92′ 22tape has been producing vinyl based hip hop out of a variety of places. Apparently producing all of these tracks while in Denver, LA, and Dublin, he shows a good amount of variety while still keeping the tracks simple and bangin’. Tons of low end bass throughout and a dope glitch vibe put him among the likes of dimlite and prefuse, but at the same time his tracks give off a more relaxed hip hop vibe than the more recent glitch hop endeavors by heavy hitters like FlyLo and Alex B. This is the third track off the EP and gives a good impression of the quality of tracks throughout.

I had never heard of these cats before, but in my opinion they blow Eoto’s “live dubstep” out of the water.
Both off the Fashionably Late Mixtape, Yup is a straight banger. Mixtape drops June 22nd. get on it.

The Wolf been slackin’, apparently. I was just cruising through Live For the Funk (a blog you should all bookmark. seriously. do it.) and looks like on June 2nd they posted up the Cool Kids new mixtape. I been diggin’ on The Cool Kids for a minute now and was quite excited to give it a listen. If you have been keeping up with their news at all, then you know we are still waiting for them to drop their album “When Fish Ride Bicycles”. Since they announced it was in the works, they have released two mixtapes – “Gone Fishing” (2009) and what we have for you now….
